Technician II – IS

The Huntsville-Madison County Airport Authority is accepting applications for the position of Technician II – IS. Duties include performing technical work involving Microsoft Network, Cisco Switching, assemblage and maintenance of user workstations, and troubleshooting computer hardware and software problems for the employees of the Huntsville Airport.  Work involved in this position includes, but is not limited to, hardware and software setup and on-site maintenance of user workstations, cellphones, tablet devices, installation and configuration of network software, use of Exchange service, Internet, on-call troubleshooting and on-site training of users. Position provides system support to various devices on the Huntsville Airport’s integrated systems network. Systems include the Parking Revenue System (PARCS), The Flight Information System (FIDS), Security System’s IP based components, Mitel Phone System, Cisco Switches, Adtran WiFi, Clarity Matrix Jumbotron and Other IP based systems.  Additional duties include assisting in cable management, installation, and repairs for both copper, fiber and other low voltage systems.  Position will manage physical security system support to achieve minimal downtime, Setup and maintain Communications Center software systems and conduct on-site maintenance of the Airports Access Control and Video system.

Applicant should have an AA degree in the field of computer science and/or 3 years equivalent work experience as an IT/Helpdesk specialist in a professional service setting. Certifications in Microsoft Desktop Support, MCP Windows 10, Network+ and/or A+ are preferred.  Hands on hardware troubleshooting experience, knowledge and ability to install relevant programs, manage network connectivity and research PC/OS issues are required skills. Fiber Optic experience is a plus.
