ADVERTISEMENT FOR BID

The Huntsville-Madison County Airport Authority (“Owner”) is requesting sealed proposals for the furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment and services for the AIRCRAFT RESCUE AND FIRE FIGHTING STATION (the “Project”) at the Port of Huntsville in Huntsville, Alabama.  Sealed proposals will be received by Owner at Owner’s Administrative Offices, 1000 Glenn Hearn Blvd SW, Huntsville, AL 35824 until 2:00 p.m. on June 3, 2025 and be held unopened until receipt of Supplemental Bid Documentation at 3:00 p.m., at which time and place the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

There will be a pre-bid meeting for the Project at 2:00 p.m. on May 5, 2025, in the Heritage Salon meeting room located behind the hotel restaurant on the second floor of the terminal building. Attendance at the meeting is not mandatory but is highly encouraged.

An electronic copy of the complete Request for Proposals (“RFP”), including Instructions to Bidders, Plans, and Specifications, may be obtained at no cost by emailing Kristine Harding (kharding@kpsgroup.com).  Owner reserves the right to reject proposals that do not comply with the requirements established in the RFP.

Bidder must be an Alabama General Contractor licensed by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors for Alabama pursuant to Alabama Code Section 34-8-1, et seq.  Only bids of such Contractors who are licensed prior to the date of bid opening will be considered.

Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond or certified check in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid price, as shown on the proposal form, which shall be made payable to Owner and shall be subject to the conditions set forth in the RFP.  A performance bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price and a labor and material payment bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price will be required.

This project is anticipated to be financed through a grant from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and will be subject to all FAA requirements.

No bidder may withdraw his bid within 90 days after the actual date of bid opening.
