Wheelchairs and Special Needs Assistance

Please notify your airline in advance of your flight to arrange for wheelchair assistance, passenger loading lifts, personal assistance throughout a connection or escort assistance for minors.

Contact the TSA Cares helpline (855-787-2227 or TSA-ContactCenter@dhs.gov) at least 72 hours prior to traveling if you have questions about screening procedures or additional assistance during the TSA security screening process for travelers with disabilities, medical conditions or other special needs.

Title VI Policy

The Huntsville-Madison County Airport Authority (“HMCAA”) is committed to ensuring that no person on the grounds of race, color, national origin, sex, creed, religion, or age will be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be otherwise subjected to discrimination under any of HMCAA’s programs, services, or activities, in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 42 USC §2000d et seq., and related statutes and regulations (collectively, “Title VI”).

Making a Title VI Complaint

Any person who feels that he or she has been subjected to discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, creed, religion or age may file a complaint with the Airport Authority by completing the Title VI Complaint Form (link below) and submitting it to the Civil Rights Coordinator within 90 days following the date of the alleged discriminatory occurrence.

Accessibility Policy

HMCAA does not discriminate against qualified individuals with disabilities on the basis of disability in its services, programs, or activities, in accordance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, 29 USC §794 et seq., the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (“ADA”), and related regulations (collectively, “ADA”).

Requesting a Reasonable Accommodation or Modification

HMCAA is committed to providing reasonable accommodations and/or modifications for people with disabilities in accordance with 28 CFR Part 35 and 49 CFR Part 27. Qualified individuals with disabilities may request a reasonable accommodation or modification by contacting the Civil Rights Coordinator.

Filing an ADA Grievance

Any person who feels he or she has been denied access to HMCAA’s facilities, programs or services based on a disability may file a grievance by completing the ADA Grievance Form (link below) and submitting it to the Civil Rights Coordinator within ninety (90) days of the alleged event.

First Amendment Activities
